Ever been challenged or excited to try an idea but didn’t know where to start? Well, that was me over two weeks ago and before then, and before then! Holy Spirit downloaded “The 40-Day Burlap Fast” in me while teaching my children about Jonah and the whale during social distancing. As a creative being in the eyes of God, we are gifted to create endless ideas (Ephesians 2:10); however, creating what God wants has now become most important to me. Even today, I waited to hear exactly “how” to encourage you on your journey.
I’ll confess that there have been lots of times, ideas would come to mind followed by fear, anxiety, doubt, worrying about what others would say/think…you know the routine! Well, I had decided earlier this year that I would surrender my thoughts/plans back to God After all, He created us and placed purpose in us before we were born. (Ephesians 1:4)
I’ve been guilty of calling and sharing ideas with everybody and never starting and have disregarded God’s wisdom and knowledge. At times I’ve made God seem so distant from me, but the reality is even from a distance he knows our thoughts. (Psalm 139:1-2)
I had no reason to fear God as in being fearfully afraid. Like, what good parent would want their child to be afraid to talk to them or even be in their presence? I rebuked myself (crazy thoughts) many days “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and learning.” (Proverbs 1:7 KJV)
Today marks five years of God calling me off a job to be an entrepreneurial evangelist. I work my faith to minister and produce streams of income. That one radical season of obedience in my life now serves me. I own a faith-based business hub where I coach and show others how to apply faith in their lives.
I had every reason to honor and respect God’s power, love, and wisdom. What didn't make sense in 2017, is clearer today. It makes sense to ask the author of my life what does he have in mind for ME.
