I Matter

40-Day Burlap Fast, Day 7 Devotional

Being looked over, downplayed, or being treated as a “last-minute” choice sure does not makes us feel good. The government issues Social Security identification numbers and birth certificates for a reason. Everyone matters! True life has not always dealt us a good hand, and to be honest, we have dealt bad hands to people for revenge or lack of understanding. This may make you feel distant from the world. Just as you want to feel important, consider others. God wants us to run our “own” race on His team because He knows that each of us plays a special role in advancing the kingdom. So, the next time you allow someone (even yourself) to belittle your expertise, knowledge, experience, and overall life, tell yourself, “I Matter!” and do what is necessary to keep your peace.

People really want what you offer.

God is watching and looking to ensure that we are not misplaced. (Matthew 18: 12-14) They may never tell you, but your faith, resilience, and courage have moved paved new trails for others. Stay where God has you and own the calling on your life. If no one calls your name, if no one gives you a front-row seat, if no one places you on a program, if no one acknowledges that God works on the inside of you, you still need to be consistent with God.

During last night’s 40-Day Burlap Fast prayer, we heard that God would always validate your life. The Bible reminds us that if you stick with God and trust Him along the way, you will find that He pulled it off perfectly. (Psalm 37:5 TPT) The MSG of Psalm 37:5 states, “He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day and stamp you with approval at high noon.”

You are always God’s choice. Arise and go be great!
